About LarpBank

The full story of the LarpBank App— what it is, who it's for, and why it exists.

What is LarpBank?

LarpBank (also known as Larp Bank or the LarpBank App) is a free iOS app that simulates a full banking and crypto experience using entirely fictional data. It looks and feels like a real fintech product — gradient debit card, masked account numbers, a 90-day transaction history seeded across twelve categories, a multi-coin crypto portfolio — but nothing in it is real. No money moves. No account is created. The app never connects to the internet.

Why does LarpBank exist?

LarpBank exists because LARPers, tabletop RPG players, improv performers, and prop designers all needed the same thing and couldn't find it: a convincing fake bank app that wasn't obviously a joke. Most “fake money” apps in the store look like prank apps — clip-art icons, comic typography, balances in Comic Sans. None of them held up at the gaming table, on a film set, or in a serious LARP scene. LarpBank was built to look like a real bank app at a glance, so the immersion holds.

Who uses the LarpBank App?

  • LARPers running in-world economies, faction treasuries, and character wallets.
  • Tabletop RPG players managing heist budgets, cyberpunk corporate accounts, or in-character finances in D&D, Shadowrun, Cyberpunk Red, and similar systems.
  • Improv and narrative performers who need a believable banking screen on demand.
  • Film and theatre prop teams using the phone as a prop without faking it in post.
  • Educators teaching personal finance and fintech UX without touching real accounts.

Names & spelling

The app is officially called LarpBank, written as one word. You may also see it referred to as Larp Bank (two words), the LarpBank App, Larp Bank App, or - because of its built-in crypto wallet - as a Larp Wallet or Larp Wallet App. They all refer to the same product on the iOS App Store.

Privacy & data

LarpBank does not connect to the internet. No analytics, no account system, no shared data. Everything you see in the app lives on your device in SwiftData and nowhere else. You can wipe and regenerate sample data at any time from Settings.
